So yesterday, I put on this pair of jeans that I saw hanging from a chair and hummed happily to work. Lalalalalala.

Reached the black pearly gates of the office and happened to look down -_-

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Patches of caked mud.

How did it get there?!

Blogging live from the office on this particular day. Heh. One has to bring bread and butter back for the household. My manager, Ms N woke up at 6.30am this morning to bake two cakes! That's so admirable! Had my dose of caffeine and chocolate cake and if only everyday could be like that.

So many years of education, so many tests and exams and so much money and heartache spent during all these years, how could I still not know what I want? Am I contented with the status-quo? Am I living life the way I want? Am I appreciating the beauty of Paris every single day or am I just bound to this office job, feeling weary of doing nothing much, clocking down in and day out to achieve financial security.

Granted, many people do not love their jobs. I am somehow ok with mine. Where do I find the courage to do what I want. I know what I want to do. I just don't know what I want to do after that. We have to be responsible. We can't all be spoilt brats and run off pursuing our dreams can we? However, life is too short to wait. Why wait? I am in the wrong country. Don't get me wrong, I love France. The beauty, the cuisine, the magnificent architecture, theatre, culture etc. We should be contented with what we have?

This is a fine post by alex the girl and hope it inspires you as much as it inspires me. Extracted from www.alexthegirl.com:

"Please go out there and do. Live. Don’t be the same as yesterday. Don’t live vicariously online. Don’t use language that has no meaning or talk ideas you don’t really live. Don’t hide. Don’t copy others or live their ideas or life. Don’t fear doing your thing. Don’t fear doing. Instead of reading a decorating magazine, paint that room. Instead of thinking of baking, do up a cake. Run, walk, bike. Put that self help book down and pick up yourself....

Do. I can’t stress that one enough. Take action on your life. Make the change. No more sulking, waiting, thinking, reading, talking about. It’s time. You’re ready."

I am so, so angry. Scumbags are everywhere. Littered all around. They are devoid of integrity and honesty. They are slimey, disgusting, slouchy reptiles that grin dumbly in your face and sneak an attack behind your back. Scumbags of the Earth, listen hard, I now announce war.

Office politics is disgusting and it exists in every nook and cranny of this vast world of ours. I have the "honour" to deal with some of these scums of the earth. They are stupid scums so they do not pose that much of a threat as yet. Stupid scums are pathetic. They should rot in their own mould and disappear from the face of this beautiful world.

We always want to believe in the good of every person. Human beings are born good, aren't they? Sad to say, the evil ones litter the streets of everyman.

Why do I need to be so full of angst. They are so not worth it.

Farewell scums of the world, and as I say it here and now - c'est fini , la gentilesse.

Caught “We will rock you” and the actress was simply amazing! Her vocals were so strong. Mama Mia was sold out sadly and guess we were missing out on ABBA tunes. Queen’s were not bad as replacements though. The spectacle was nice enough though sad to say, the guy playing the main lead was not there and thus replaced by his understudy. The understudy lacked the stage presence and charisma to pull it off. The saving grace was the female lead though she as well, was an understudy. For her though, she rose to the occasion and did an excellent job. English theatre has never failed to disappoint me and we had a great night out. (Guess we have to understand that it’s August and everyone is on their summer holidays)

It’s been 2 years since I’ve last been back and things are pretty much the same. Went back to Four Seasons for the oily fatty bom bom roast duck! God! That was heaven! It’s been close to 6 months since I ate a roast duck, Chinese style. Yumyum! JS ate too fast and had indigestion. Talking about indigestion and eating, regardless if it’s too much, too fast, too frequent, we have been on an eating spree ever since JS touched down. Raclette, croque monsieur, French crêpes, cheese, entrecôtes, you name it, we ate it. JS is very well initialized in the French gastronomic scene indeed. We are going to Chez Robert at the Pot de Fer tonight. A very quirky restaurant covered with diners’ graffiti and memos. The entrees are excellent and the menu consists of traditional French food. The bavette d’échalots (beef with shallots) can be award winning. The ambience is cozy and nice.

We went to the National History Museum at South Kensington. It’s surreal that we are walking through the same places as Ben Stiller when he filmed “Night at the Museum”. The National History Museum is great and really interesting. We saw the replicas of Triceratops and the smaller version of the T-Rex. There was also a simulation of the Kobe earthquake in 1995 which killed many. It was a sad moment in history. That National History Museum is a nice place to go back to. Most importantly, entrance is free for the general exhibits.

Bond Street is JS’s favourite haunt though the prices are amazing. After earning in euros, the pounds seem less crushing but it’s crushing all the same. Things in Top Shop and Selfridge aren’t exactly cheap even when there’s a bit of a sale going on. Anyway, everyone knows that the clothes at the discount racks are all rotten or imperfect items. Amsterdam is a much better place to shop.

Did last minute crazy shopping at Harrods and M & S. Bought lots of yummy food, including my beloved Bendicks mint. Scaling the Eiffel Tower tonight and we are prepared to squeeze with the crowd. Typing this from the office again. Heehee.

Till then, next entry will be on the “Sungei Buloh of Europe”. Stay tuned! Cheers and have an excellent weekend. =)
